For this, he involved senior actors. Sometimes he took part in videos himself. He sold materials mostly to foreigners through the anonymous segment of the Internet TOR.
Oleg Morgun presented himself as a professional photographer, gained the children's trust, and then persuaded them to participate in the filming. For this, he even had special literature on child psychology.
Immediately after the arrest, the man was taken into custody without bail. In August 2019, the October District Court of Poltava eased Morgun's preventive measure, adding the opportunity to pay 153.7 thousand UAH pledge. The decision was justified by the fact that the other suspect in the case received such a preventive measure immediately after his arrest, while Morgun is married, has positive characteristics, a job and a family, and also does not have the opportunity to influence witnesses. In addition, the man's health condition, which makes it difficult for him to be in custody, also had an impact.
As a result, the amount was paid for him and the man was released from the pre-trial detention center. In less than a month, the law enforcement officers had to catch him again. He violated the terms of the preventive measure and hid from the police in a Kyiv apartment. After that, he was again sent to the SIZO without bail and the investigation continued.
The investigation was completed in December 2019. On December 17, the indictment was sent to the Dnipro District Court of Kyiv. There were two defendants in it: Oleg Morgun (the organizer) and Mykhailo Kabatin (one of the "actors"). On December 20, preventive measures were extended for both of them for 2 months, and already in February 2020, the case had to be changed.
It turned out that on January 20, Oleg Morgun died in the Kyiv detention center. The cause of death was chronic ischemic heart disease. Because of this, on February 5, 2020, the court closed the criminal proceedings against Morgun. According to the law, court hearings regarding him could continue posthumously only if one of the parties wished for his rehabilitation. No such applications were received.
Other participants in the production of child porn are awaiting sentencing or are in hiding
So, for now, there is only one defendant left in the case - 20-year-old Mykhailo Kabatin from Kyiv.
He is accused of:
Part 4 Art. 301 of the Criminal Code (Complicity in the production of child pornography);
Part 5 Art. 301 of the Criminal Code (Participation in the organization of the production of child pornography);
Part 3 Art. 152 of the Criminal Code (gang rape of a minor);
Part 4 Art. 152 of the Criminal Code (Rape of a child under the age of 14);
Part 1 Art. 156 of the Criminal Code (Committing lewd acts against a person who has not reached the age of 16).
From the very beginning, the man has only been kept under a restraining order. He is still under this personal obligation.
But that's not all. Currently, it is known that there may be more people involved in this case. For example, one of the possible ones is 23-year-old Kostyantyn Kerch (also an "actor"). Since September 2019, he has been officially wanted by the police of the Poltava region for the same articles regarding child pornography, rape, and molestation.
There is also information on the network about other participants in the production of child pornography, some of whom are treated as victims in the case. About it below.
The organizers and participants in the production of child porn were exposed by users of the anonymous forum.
Official sources said little about the process of identifying and detaining members of the porn studio. The only wording is "statement by aggrieved party" and "appeal from UK colleagues". The Lurkmore Encyclopedia has more details on this case. From it, it is known that the denunciations, for the most part, were carried out by users of the anonymous forum Dvach.
In the second half of 2018, they turned their attention to new content on the darknet with child porn. In the videos, most of the "actors" did not hide their faces, which was not traditional for this type of video.
At the beginning of 2019, visitors to Dvach started their own investigation. With the help of the VKontakte account search service, they found the pages of "actors" in this social network and others, followed by the pages of their relatives and the organizer Oleg Morgun himself. After that, Anonymous found the addresses of the participants and the possible name of the 7-year-old girl who appears in the video.
In particular, there are two 17-year-old girls (Maria Virich and Karina Orlova) on the recordings, whose identities were revealed by Dvach users. In their opinion, they should be responsible according to the law, because they committed lewd acts to a little girl. Currently, they are treated as victims in the case.
So far, we can realistically hope for punishment only for one person - Mykhailo Kabatin. It is known from the register of court decisions that he studies at the Kyiv National University of Technology and Design. As of February 2020, he was diagnosed with osteoblastoma of the left scapula (a benign tumor) and underwent surgery.
The last court hearing on Kabatin's indictment was supposed to take place in the Dnipro District Court of Kyiv. The date of the next meeting is not yet known.

None of the criminals have ever been punished. Mykhailo Kabatin is still wanted. No criminal case has been opened against Karina Orlova and Maria Virich.
